If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, Verona should be on your bucket list. The charming city in Italy boasts beautiful streets and a relaxed way of life. During my recent two-day trip to Verona, I was able to experience the best of what the city has to offer.
The first stop on our itinerary was the Arena di Verona, a Roman amphitheater that has been around since ancient times. Today, it serves as one of Europe’s largest opera theaters and hosts concerts that attract music-loving tourists from all around the world.
Another must-see attraction is Juliet’s house. The famous statue of Juliet is located in a beautiful courtyard filled with halls, rooms, and balconies that recount the story of Romeo and Juliet. Couples from all over the world visit this house to touch Juliet’s breast, hoping to find true love and happiness in their relationships. Many also write their names on a lock and place it on a gate in the courtyard for good luck.

Finally, no trip to Verona is complete without a visit to Venice, the “city of water.” Venice is only a one-day trip from Verona and is known for its beautiful Grand Canal, small and smart streets, and numerous large buildings surrounded by water.
